    Interview with pro team Ultimate
    Read more.../  45 comments
Team Ultaimte began when owner Ted Wolfson and four teenage boys (Kyle Wolfson, Jonathan Carpenter, David Becker, Joshua Becker) played 5 Man Rookie in the 2003 PSP series and placed 3rd overall. They decided to play X-ball the following season and picked up a bunch of boys with the heart and desire to practice hard. They had to play DIV II since 4 of the boys had already played in the Rookie division. By mid-season of 2004 when PSP decided to move the top half of DIV II up to DIV I, Team Ultimate was ranked in the top 3 of DIV I teams. At World Cup 2004, Ultimate just had to finish ahead of their rivals. They held steady, finishing in 2nd place for the event and took first place for the season. It was a dream season - to go from a team full of rookie players to winning against the top Amateur teams was no small feat. There were no "guest stars" or pro players on the team; it was all achieved with local Atlanta, GA talent!

    Q. First question, when did you get started into paintball?

    A. I got started in 1988. The first game I ever played was a pick-up game of Industry people at one of Jerry Braun's tournaments in New York in '88, including PMI's Jeff Perlmutter, Caleb Strong, David Craig of Adventure Game Supply (which later became TASO), Ross Alexander of Bushmaster fame, and Aldo Perrone of Brass Eagle. I used a PGP, and Aldo shot me in the ass. Metaphorically, he continued to be a pain in that area for many years to follow.

I am a 44-year hold businessman that started playing paintball with my two sons in 1996. We rented gear at Southwest Paintball in Phoenix, AZ and had our own gear within a few months. I had recently sold my long distance phone company and was not working when I decided to get into the paintball business. I purchased an indoor paintball field and store in Salt Lake City, UT (Paintball Planet). We ran this business for about 3 years and sold it to Peg Leg Paintball.
